This medium power of the papilloma shows the finger-like, papillary nature of this growth. Along the lower edge of the dilated duct, there is a palm-like arrangement with projecting fingers. To the right, the finger-like projections are not attached, and look more like fingers "seen on end." This exercise in tissue analysis is to demonstrate how the pathologist must look at two dimensional tissue sections, and reconstruct the actual three dimensional nature of lesions and tumors.
