While speaking at community classes on breast cancer and breast disease, I was astonished by the number and level of questions about the pathology report that I received from breast cancer and benign breast disease patients in the audience.

I realized that something very important was missing in the understanding of these women. They needed an explanation of how their diagnosis was determined, not in clinical language, but in terms that they could understand-and the significance to them personally of the information in the pathology report.

This gave me the idea for Breastpath.com.

This web site is committed to making your breast disease more understandable, whether it is a benign fibroadenoma or a Stage 1 breast cancer.

An old cliché is a picture tells a thousand words. Although it is a cliché, it is true. You will find many pictures on the Breastpath.com web site as well as in the Breastpath.com reports. Photographs and photomicrographs of what the pathologist sees with the naked eye as well as through the microscope when making a diagnosis. When you can understand visually what is happening with the cells inside your body, it greatly helps you to understand the entire disease.

My hope is that the web site and the Breastpath.com services and reports give you information that is thorough and easy to understand. And, that the information helps you to discuss your diagnosis with your physician, ask questions and participate in your care and treatment.

My best wishes to you.
